Dr. Elaine Yeung attended medical school at the University of Toronto, where she also completed her clinical training in internal medicine and gastroenterology. She pursued advanced endoscopy at the University of Calgary and subsequently set up one of the first community hospital endoscopic ultrasound programs in Ontario in 2008 at Scarborough General Hospital—now part of Scarborough Health Network (SHN). Her main clinical interest continues to be in the use of advanced endoscopy for the diagnosis, staging and management of gastrointestinal cancers. In July of 2022, she was appointed Chief of Staff and interim Executive Vice President of Medical Programs at SHN. She is on the steering committee to establish the Scarborough Academy for Medicine and Integrated Health in collaboration with the University of Toronto’s Temerty Faculty of Medicine and the University of Toronto Scarborough.
