Healthcare Systems: Innovative Healthcare Models 

Dr. Nguyen, MD, PhD, FRCPC, is a Professor of Medicine and Clinician Scientist based at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. His clinical and research focus is healthcare delivery in inflammatory bowel disease, especially among vulnerable populations. He completed his medical training, fellowship, and PhD in clinical investigation at Johns Hopkins. He is the national lead for Crohn’s and Colitis Canada’s Promoting Access and Care through Centres of Excellence (PACE) program, a national network dedicated to improving access and quality of care for Canadians with IBD. 

As a part of the PACE program, Dr. Nguyen and his team are leading the Canadian Network for Virtual Access to Specialists project, a national pilot program to improve access to IBD care in underserviced areas across Canada.
